Previously, we posted about our story of how Holy Week used to be celebrated in our country, Dominican Republic many years ago!

But this year, all of a sudden, due to a virus, Coronavirus or COVID-19, everything changed and all plans for the Easter holiday were canceled.

Last year by holy Wednesday many, not to say most of the people were already on their way to their vacation destinations such as resorts, mountains, countryside, leaving a free traffic jam Santo Domingo city behind!

With great joy, small towns in the countryside have been expecting the arrival of family members coming to visit for a few days, remembering old times together. All this has been preceded with a lot of phone calls, selection of beach garments, sportswear, sun protection products, accessories, shopping at the last minute!

But this year, 2020, all these dreams visiting families, laying at the beach, hiking, horse riding, paragliding, rafting, canyoning and many other sports, have been postponed, hopefully, for next year!

With the quarantine in the Dominican Republic, controlled with a curfew that starts at 5 PM and ends at 6 AM, no place to go, no getting together, Holy Week has become, for the first time after maybe 50 years an opportunity for families to reflect on what life is about!

In the Holy Week of this year 2020, Jesus has become the center of attention. Prayers to save us from the Coronavirus, to end the consequences resulting from this shutdown of all industrial and commercial activities, to have mercy are pouring!

Families are getting to know each other better, get closer together and be thankful for what they have received from our Father in heaven!

We are missing our traditional sweet red beans delight you are treated with in each home during Easter time, but we pray for better days ahead. Our beaches, rivers, mountains are having the opportunity to clean up and be renewed for us to enjoy them soon again!

We extend this invitation to you for the Dominican Republic is a tropical jewel in the Caribbean, it has it all!!!!
